Janet Necker Medoro is a fourth generation-born native of Staten Island, New York. This first-time author was educated in the Island's parochial school system before going on to graduate from the King's County Hospital Center School of Nursing in Brooklyn. After more than forty years as a critical care nurse, she retired in 2016 to devote time to her pleasures in life: gardening, researching Staten Island history, and being with family and friends. Janet currently resides in New Dorp and is the mother of two: Joe and Leslie.
